Gafney Knit Wits

The Gafney Knit Wits meet to knit, crochet and socialize. While much of the time the members work on their own projects, the group extended itself into the community by working on many charity projects - baby blankets, sweaters, and hats for local organizations that care for young mothers, chemo caps, helmet liners, shawls, and even afghans to send to Afghanistan.  Occasional "field trips" to yarn shops, and lunches or picnics by the lake at members' homes are on the Knit Wits' agenda.

Janice King, founder of the group, says that the motto since the beginning has always been, "Come as you want, stay as long as you want." It is a very informal group  There are no dues or membership fees and no commitment to attend meetings.  The KnitWits always welcome new members, no matter what the skill level!  Call Janice at 522-3401 to be on the list for changes in schedule.
