Every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence. At the Gafney Library, we strive to make our services accessible to people of all abilities, and we have invested resources to ensure that the library is welcoming and comfortable for all. We have also worked alongside our website developer to ensure that our website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities.
The Gafney Library offers:
- Wheelchair accessible restrooms, entrances, parking, and computer workstations
- An elevator (also wheelchair accessible)
- A walker available for use within the library
- Book delivery service upon request
- Curbside pickup on Saturday mornings from 10–12 (with arrangements)
- Audio books: We have a selection of CD audiobooks at the library, and we can help you access downloadable audiobooks using OverDrive and Libby.
- Large print books: We have a limited collection of large print books at the library, and we can help you locate a wide variety of titles through the interlibrary loan system.

Accessibility on the Website
Our website, gafneylibrary.org employs the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget. The UserWay widget integrates software into our website that offers our users a variety of accommodation options, improving their user experience and enhancing our overall compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
HOW TO USE OUR ACCESSIBILITY TOOL
The Accessibility Menu for our website can be enabled by clicking the accessibility menu button that appears in the lower left corner of our website. The button is represented by a circle icon with a person in the center like the one pictured here. After triggering the button, simply wait a moment for the accessibility menu to load in its entirety.
Once open, you will have a variety of options including: large text, highlighted links, increased contrast, a large cursor, a reading mask for long pages, and even a dyslexia-friendly font.
