Teens can stop by any time between 3-7:00pm and help celebrate World Environment Day by planting a flower. Take it home and watch it grow!

The Gafney Library was awarded a grant from the Children’s Literacy Foundation.

With this grant we have a new 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program!

Let’s Read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!

Are you ready for a reading adventure? Snuggle up, grab your favorite stories (yes, re-reading that book a million times totally counts!), and let’s see if you can read 1,000 books before your little one heads off to kindergarten.

Along the way, you’ll earn stickers, surprises, and super-fun prizes—just for sharing stories together!

The Wakefield-Brookfield Historical Society will be conducting their monthly meeting in the Gafney Library's Community Room throughout the summer months. This month's presentation is “Captain Lovewell and Lovell Lake," with Bob Spellman.

The Gafney Library is excited to announce its 13th annual Art at the Gafney event! This year marks a special year for the Gafney Library, as August 8^th the library will be celebrating its 100^th Anniversary.

To correspond with the libraries, the Art at the Gafney will be holding its largest art show to date, with 80 participants and over 80 donations!

Each artist will be donating at least one piece to raffle off and another piece to show or to sell. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the summer, until the closing reception, which will be held on August 16^th from 2:00-4:00pm. All proceeds will go to the Gafney Library.

The Gafney Library encourages visitors to come, explore and experience the many unique and the diverse artistic talents which flourish within the region.

 Why should kids have all the fun? Join us during the first week of our Summer Reading Program—LEGO Week—for a special Adult LEGO Hour!

Come unwind, get creative, and build whatever your imagination dreams up. Whether you're a seasoned brick builder or just looking for a fun way to relax, this hour is for you. No kids, no pressure—just pure building fun!

We’ll provide the bricks—you bring the creativity.

Join us for a fascinating presentation by the Loon Preservation Society, dedicated to the protection and study of one of New England’s most iconic birds. Learn about loon behavior, their habitat, and the efforts being made to preserve their populations for future generations. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight from experts and ask your own questions about these captivating creatures. Don’t miss it!

Join us in the Youth Library space as we celebrate Lego week watching The Lego Movie! Popcorn will be served. Feel free to bring a drink in a cup with a lid.

Help us kick off our Summer Reading Program with Lego Man, Cody Wells! He will be here to help you unlock your creativity in open build challenges! There will be a prize table and games!
