Join us as we celebrate 100 years of the Gafney and the end of our 2025 summer reading program! Our tie-dye party is a community-wide FREE event for all ages. Let us worry about the setup and cleanup, and you get to take home a custom creation!
DATE: Saturday, August 2nd
TIME: 10am–1pm
We’ll have t-shirts available for people to dye (first come, first serve!), but if you have a favorite clothing item from home, you may bring that and tie dye it!
If you want to bring your own clothing item, here are a few tips:
- natural fibers work best (like cotton, linen, rayon, bamboo, or silk)
- if the item is new, be sure to pre-wash it to remove sizing (and skip the fabric softener! Things like that will coat the fabric and prevent the dye from getting in there.)
- don’t want to make a shirt? Scarves, socks, and pillowcases can be fun, too!
