The Portland Museum of Art features a collection of over 19,000 works—including American, European, and contemporary art—with a focus on Maine-inspired pieces (like Winslow Homer). Founded in 1882, the PMA is Maine’s oldest and largest public art institution. It is located in downtown Portland’s Arts District.
