The Gafney Library is pleased to offer a wide variety of books for children, teens, and adults.
Our collection has something for everyone: fiction, nonfiction, picture books, graphic novels, and audiobooks.
SEARCH THE GPL CATALOGMAGAZINES & NEWSPAPERS
The library has a great selection of magazines and newspapers which can be read in the library at your leisure.
Titles include Better Homes and Gardens, Consumer Reports, Granite State News, and The Carroll County Independent.
COMPUTERS & INTERNET
The library has six computers (two adult, four teen) loaded with Microsoft Office and internet access. We also have free, fast WiFi available 24/7 with your laptop or phone. You can work outside (we have nice log chairs!) and from your car!
BOOKS ON CD & DVDs
We have a great selection of CD audiobooks and a large library of DVDs for all ages!

DIGITAL MEDIA
Your GPL card gives you access to thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, comics, music, and TV shows right from home through our OverDrive and Hoopla subscriptions!

The Gafney Library has a Notary Public on staff and provides this service for free to the public.
If possible, we recommend you call the library to confirm staff availability before you come in!
COPY, PRINT, FAX & SCAN
Copy, print, fax, and scanning are all available at the library! We also have computers in case you need to email your files.
If your documents are on your phone, that’s ok, too! We have wireless printing! Copy, print, and fax services have a small fee.
LIBRARY OF THINGS
The Gafney is happy to offer several fun and useful items that our patrons can borrow!
We have a telescope, Playaway Launchpad youth learning tablets, a violin, a musical STEM activity set for children, and more.
MUSEUM PASSES
Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Wakefield Libraries, we are able to offer our patrons free and reduced admission passes to several local museums.

COMMUNITY ROOM
Our community room accommodates up to fifty people and is available to Wakefield and Brookfield nonprofit groups and governmental agencies for civic, cultural, informational, and educational purposes.

HiSET TESTING
The Gafney Library is an official HiSET testing center. Just like the GED, passing the HiSET exam will earn you a state-issued high school equivalency (HSE) credential that is accepted everywhere, in every state, and by the federal government (including the US Military).
