Wakefield Heritage Commission

Wakefield Parks & Rec
Wakefield Parks and Recreation offers a huge variety of programs, from tiny tots and afterschool programs to adult and senior activities – classes, clubs, fun activities, sports, fitness – they even sponsor trips!
Greater Wakefield Lions Club
The Lions sponsor community events, deliver Meals on Wheels, sponsor a cabin at Camp Pride, host an annual Shred-a-Thon, provide academic awards, collect eyeglasses, donate to neighborhood associations and provide free eye screening to local schools and daycares.
Greater Wakefield Resource Center
The GWRC works to enhance the health, education, and employment of our community, including Wakefield, Farmington, Brookfield, Middleton, and Milton. They provide seniors with activities, meals, Bingo, and field trips. View their monthly meal menu here »
Wakefield Food Pantry
The Wakefield Food Pantry, serving the villages of Wakefield, New Hampshire, and the nearby communities of Brookfield, Middleton, Milton, Effingham, and Newfield, Maine.
NH Food Bank
The New Hampshire Food Bank offers several programs, from mobile food pantries and summer meals for students to culinary training. There is a Find Food button at the top of the home page that will give you access to a map of food distribution sites, the mobile food pantry schedule, information about SNAP benefits, and more.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
The University of New Hampshire in Durham has four libraries on their campus, all of which are open to the public. Library cards are free to New Hampshire residents with a photo ID and proof of current residence (such as a utility bill).

NH STATE LIBRARY
The New Hampshire State Library offers a wide variety of resources for all ages.

UNH's Dimond Library and Milne Special Collections and Archives contain a wide variety of resources for genealogical research, including books, maps, pamphlets, newspapers, census records, microfilm, and photographs. This guide contains links to university, local, state, and general genealogy resources.
NHSL GENEALOGICAL RESOURCES
The New Hampshire State Library houses approximately 2400 titles of published family histories for New Hampshire and New England. They also have town records dating back to 1640, federal census records for New Hampshire (1790-1930), newspapers on microfilm, military indexes, and more.
